Bacon Wrapped Chili Cheese Grilled Hot Dogs
Here’s a recipe for Bacon Wrapped Chili Cheese Grilled Hot Dogs. I love hot dogs, chili and cheese sauce aka queso. You can make this at home, in your RV, or over a campfire.
Ingredients:
- 8 hot dogs (beef, pork, or your favorite)
- 8 slices of bacon
- 8 hot dog buns (preferably grilled)
- 1 can of chili (store-bought or homemade)
- 1 jar of nacho cheese sauce (or homemade)
- 1 small onion, finely diced
- 1-2 fresh jalapeños, sliced
- Toothpicks (to secure the bacon)
Instructions:
Wrap the hot dogs in bacon:
- Tightly wrap each hot dog with a slice of bacon. Use toothpicks at both ends to secure the bacon in place if necessary.
Grill the bacon-wrapped hot dogs:
- Preheat your grill to medium heat.
- Place the bacon-wrapped hot dogs on the grill, turning occasionally. Grill for about 10-15 minutes or until the bacon is crispy and fully cooked, and the hot dogs are heated through.
Prepare the chili:
- While the hot dogs are grilling, heat up the canned chili in a small saucepan over medium heat until hot, stirring occasionally.
Grill the buns:
- During the last few minutes of grilling the hot dogs, place the buns on the grill for about 1-2 minutes to get them toasted and lightly charred.
Assemble the hot dogs:
- Place each bacon-wrapped hot dog in a grilled bun.
- Top with a generous spoonful of chili.
- Drizzle with nacho cheese sauce.
- Sprinkle diced onions and sliced jalapeños on top for extra flavor and heat.
Serve:
- Remove the toothpicks if you used them, and enjoy these loaded bacon-wrapped hot dogs!
Bacon wrapped anything tastes better. Even more if eaten on a campout. Feel free to use canned chili and cheese sauce when making this dish. And let everyone choose their own toppings.
