Air Fryer Strip Steak For A Quick Low Carb Meal
Compound Butter Ingredients:
- 1 4-oz. stick unsalted butter, softened
- 1 large head roasted garlic
- 3 T. fresh chives, chopped
- ¼ t. salt
Steak
- 2 10-oz. strip steaks, trimmed
- 1 T. extra virgin olive oil
- Sea salt and black pepper, to taste
Instructions:
To make the compound butter, combine the softened butter, roasted garlic cloves, chives, and salt in a bowl. Stir until everything is well mixed, ensuring the garlic cloves are broken up and evenly spread throughout the butter.
Place the butter mixture onto a sheet of plastic wrap and shape it into a log, as shown. Wrap it tightly and refrigerate until firm, about one hour.
Take the steaks out of the refrigerator 30 minutes before cooking. Brush them with olive oil and season generously with salt and black pepper. Set aside.
Preheat the air fryer to 400°F and set the timer for 8 minutes to achieve medium-rare doneness.
Once the air fryer is ready, place the steaks in the basket in a single layer, ensuring they are not overcrowded. Close the lid and air fry for 4 minutes.
Open the lid and use silicon tongs to turn the steaks. Close the lid and air fry for another 3-4 minutes, or until the steaks reach an internal temperature of 130°F for medium rare.
Remove the steaks from the air fryer and cover them loosely with aluminum foil. Let them rest for 5-10 minutes to allow the juices to settle. The internal temperature will continue to rise a few degrees during this time.
Serve the steaks immediately, topped with some compound butter and your choice of sides. Enjoy!
